A New Year

2009 was bittersweet.
January saw me recovering from gallbladder surgery. February brought a new age for me. March brought me a 20 year old son and my first trip to St. Louis and the arch with our good friend Juliana. April brought a new age for my dad. May brought a new age for my mom. (I thank God every day that they are still with me.) June brought the end of the school year and our summer time. July was a low key 4th of July...watching from my mom's back porch in between rain storms. August brought the beginning of a new school year...much too early...senior year for Jordan and tears for me. September brought Jordan's 18th birthday and a fun surprise party with her friends at the Cheesecake Factory. October brought the sudden end of my stepdad's time on this earth. I wasn't prepared...I don't think any of us were. November brought Thanksgiving at mom's house. Keeping our new tradition of eating late so that Kara can get to work later that night. We arose early the next morning to join in the craziness of Black Friday shopping. December brought Christams and the end of 2009.

2010 will be bittersweet again...Jordan will be ending her high school career and moving on to Kansas University and Jared will probably be moving on to life in Nashville. I will be trying out life with only one child in my house.

Here's to 2010. I want to make this year a year full of memories...
